As follow-up to the BC response to the OECD Career Guidance
Policy Review, BCCIP partners proposed a round table discussion
or forum on career development and the workplace. This roundtable
would bring together representatives
from the career practitioner and employer communities for purposes
of exploring the role of career development and its contributions
to lifelong learning,
skills development and workforce excellence.
It is expected that this event could also support BC's participation
in the National Symposium on Career Development, Lifelong Learning
and Workforce Development.
On February 6, 2004, a Career Development and Employer
Partnership Roundtable, jointly sponsored
by the BC Chamber of Commerce and the BC Career
Information
Partnership and funded by Human Resources and Skills
Development Canada was held at the Morris J Wosk
Centre in Vancouver. For more information on this
